A Tranquil, Stress-Free Haven for ALL Tamara Fans

On June 23, 2004, TotallyTamara.com opened as a site in honor of Tamara Braun, declaring ourselves to be “A Stress-free Haven for ALL Tamara/Carly Fans”. We provided a forum for ALL pairings/potential pairings for “Carly”, and we had three simple rules: No actor bashing; No “Carly” bashing; and Respect your fellow posters. We were pleased to host all Tamara/Carly fans, and to do all that we could to champion Tamara Braun, and the character she so beautifully portrayed on GH, “Carly Corinthos”. It has been a memorable year, culminating in April with Tamara’s decision to leave the role of “Carly” to seek other challenges outside the world of daytime.

Tamara explained her choice thusly in her farewell interview with Soap Opera Digest:

“Artistically and creatively, my heart just needs to try something else—just to see what’s out there. If your heart holds a passion for something, you can’t ignore it. I’ve always wanted to play different parts. That’s why I became an actress.”

We at TotallyTamara understand Tamara’s difficult and courageous decision. Although we will miss seeing her weekdays on General Hospital, we are confident that she has made the right choice. Her talents are such that success in other genres is a foregone conclusion. It would be selfish of us to expect her to stay in daytime when so many opportunities await her, and there are so many other complex and multi-faceted roles that she will now have the opportunity to portray. TotallyTamara believes that it is only a matter of time before Tamara lands in a major film and/or on prime-time television, and we eagerly await the news of her up-coming success.

We will always treasure Tamara's “Carly” in our hearts; but we now welcome a new actress to this challenging and multi-dimensional role. Laura Wright has stepped into the part, and we at TotallyTamara are proud to support her as she embarks on her run as our beloved “Carly”. As Tamara told Soap Opera Digest, “I wish whoever comes in all the best, because I know it’s not an easy thing to do. I hope that whoever they find, she loves Carly. I hope that she fights for Carly. And I hope that people are kind to her, because it’s a difficult, difficult situation to step into.” We at TotallyTamara applaud Tamara for her generous spirit, and are proud to support Laura Wright 100%. We’ll continue to discuss “Carly” on the site, and share the journey with the actress who will take her through the next several years.

Our site has been newly-designed; TotallyTamara.com will move into the future continuing to celebrate the lovely, gracious and supremely talented Tamara Braun. We hope you will join us in this journey, as Tamara has the opportunity to fulfill her dreams and desires in other roles and other genres. We are here for the long-run, and we hope you will be too.
